Safeguarding

Promoting A Safer Church

At All Saints’ Church, we believe that safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults is the responsibility of everyone. It is central to our mission and ministry and is integral in the Diocesan Vision which asks us to consider how to make our church communities healthier.

All Saints’ Church has in place arrangements which include:

  • Procedures to identify, respond to and report concerns

  • Codes of safer practice

  • Safer recruitment procedures

We have adopted the House of Bishops ‘Promoting a Safer Church’ policy and the Parish Safeguarding Handbook, incorporating the House of Bishop’s Safeguarding Policy and Practice Guidance. Also read our Parish Safeguarding Policy for futher information on how we are working to promote a safer church.

All staff and volunteers at All Saints’ Church who regularly come into contact with children and adults at risk have undergone safer recruitment and safeguarding training and support.

Reporting a Concern

Any safeguarding concerns within the parish may be discussed with our Safeguarding Officers, Ann or Diana in the first instance. Working closely with Catherine Smith, our Diocesan Safeguarding Adviser, they are best placed to advise on the next appropriate steps.
